Venice Architecture Biennale is one of the largest events in Europe about conceptual Art, Architecture, Cinema, and much more. Together with a team of designers, I helped design and implement a mockup of an application for the event. The goal of the application was to connect visitors of the Biennale with art connoisseurs to bring more context into the artworks presented.

User Persona and Interviews with past exhibitors and visitors.

In addition to designing the user interface and interactions, I took responsibility to analyze qualitative data of past interviews of participants in the Biennale. Many important insights came out of the interviews shaping team's vision and clearly defining the problem of disconnect between artists and attendees. The gap in communication set a goal for my team to propose a digital connection solution between the two audiences. Two workflows were designed to facilitate different people with various backgrounds in artwork contextual meaning and Art History.

Tourist vs Purist

A tourist enters an exhibition without an understanding of context and perceives art as it is by it's form, colour, and placement. Rarely, people without art background can comprehend contextual meaning that artist envelops into their creations. Purists are art connoisseurs, professors and art students attending the event in search of new inspirations. In Venice Architecture Biennale App, tourists can read more about the artwork and follow debates over conceptual thoughts that are recognizable to art connoisseurs. Tourists can leave questions under each artwork and expect a follow up during the event. Creating an online seasonal forum for such an event bridges a tourist with art purists. Encouraging wide adoption of Art and Architecture is important to develop general understanding of aesthetics and design. I am curious in building bridges to seeing conceptual in art.
